Ships Logs

NEW FOR 2024! Our young people will frequently write about their adventures in our 'Ships Log'; these will normally be written and uploaded when we can, once a day around supper time (or the First Watch 2000-0000, aboard Helen Mary R).

The format for the logs will differ slightly each time. Every day, our crews have a role aboard, and the 'Yeoman' is responsible for writing this log. They are prompted to answer a few questions (which change each time) and write about their experiences in their own words. They can upload pictures and a record of where we have sailed in the last 24 hours.

This is all possible thanks to equipment gifted by Actisense, which brings together multiple navigation systems into one cohesive whole and sends the data to a Raspberry Pi computer. We also couldn't do the work we could without the support from Imray, who have provided us with nautical charts and publications.
