In a little over a weeks time our Tall Ship will be craned out of the water, her masts unstepped and a long jobs list started! It's an exciting time for us as Helen Mary R has been sat securely tied to the pontoon in Plymouth's Sutton Harbour for around three years!

When we discovered the standing rigging (the wire that holds the masts up) needed replacing in 2013 it was like the floor falling away. I knew straight away we didn’t have the capacity to pay for the work to be done. This followed what was probably the worse 6 months of my life fighting to keep the dream of Morvargh alive. It truly was a battle, we lost the support of the bank, had to sell a house, and even for a short time put Helen Mary R up for sale. Thankfully however we managed to get through those darker months with the drive and dedication to continue; stories from the young people we've helped really pushed us forward. They don't know how much it truly made a difference!

It has taken a long, long time to get where we are and I’m pleased to say that on the 10th Feb we will be lifting Helen Mary R out of the water at Plymouth Yacht Haven. We couldn’t have got this far without our family, friends and acquaintances who have donated money, dedicated time, and kept us going with kind words & encouragement. Thank you all! Also to thank are the companies that have donated equipment and time to support #ASPIRE360, Our celebration voyage after the launch on the 2nd April. We'd like to give massive thanks to McMurdo, Marlow Ropes, Raymarine, Ace Fire & Security and Tim Beck!

Of course there is still a lot to do before we welcome the coding inspector aboard on the 23rd Feb and we're looking for volunteers to come down to Yacht Haven to lend a hand, paint and get involved. Even a few hours would make a massive difference, we'll be working everyday from 8am-8pm! Please do get in touch if you can lend a hand!

We've still got some parts and equipment to purchase before the lift out, but thankfully the list is much shorter than it was! Could you help with our wishlist? Any donations are most gratefully received!!!

There are just two months left in the lead up to our launch on the 2nd April and our departure for #ASPIRE360 are going to fly by. It is amazing to read the applications from the young people wanting to sail on this inspirational, life changing voyage, in fact I don't want to shortlist at all 🙁 they are all worthy of a place aboard.

It's a great feeling, getting back on the water and sailing again and #ASPIRE360 will be a life changing voyage for us as much as the young people taking part. If you want to be part of this inspirational journey (not just the sailing part) please do get in touch.
