When booking a voyage with Morvargh Sailing Project you need to agree to the following terms and conditions.
All voyage places are subject to approval by Morvargh Sailing Project.
Submission of an application form and payment of a deposit does not guarantee a place aboard. Each participant is selected based on their application and, where appropriate, on further assessment by telephone or follow-up questions.
This process ensures that each voyage group is safe, balanced, and able to support the needs of all participants.
You will receive notification of a confirmed berth by email. A contract between you and Morvargh Sailing Project is formed only when your place has been confirmed by email.
The Skipper has absolute authority at all times on all matters affecting the safety of the vessel, crew, and environment.
The Skipper is responsible for taking all reasonable steps to prevent accidents and minimise their consequences. In doing so, they act on behalf of Morvargh Sailing Project and have full authority to make decisions in the interests of safety and wellbeing.
By joining a voyage, you agree that you, or the participant you are responsible for, will:
Sail Training is a hands-on experience; all participants are expected to engage fully and contribute as part of the crew.
All participants must behave in a reasonable and respectful manner at all times.
You agree that you, or the participant you are responsible for, will:
We are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all participants. Behaviour that undermines the safety, well-being, or dignity of others will not be tolerated. This includes behaviour both on board and ashore during the voyage.
The Skipper has the authority to remove any participant from the vessel if their behaviour:
In such circumstances:
Where a minor is dismissed, the vessel will proceed to the nearest safe harbour. Parents or guardians must ensure they are contactable at all times and able to arrange collection.
Any additional costs incurred, including mooring, pilotage, or transport, will be the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
Prices quoted are per person for the full duration of the voyage unless otherwise stated.
Group bookings or charters are priced as a whole vessel fee.
The voyage fee covers the operation of the vessel and delivery of the Sail Training experience. It does not include:
A deposit is normally required once a booking has been accepted and confirmed.
Morvargh Sailing Project will issue invoice(s) for payment using the payment method configured for the voyage. Depending on the voyage setup, this may be through Stripe, Sage, Xero, or another agreed invoicing route. Morvargh Sailing Project does not store or retain card details.
Where staged payment applies, the deposit amount is calculated as the percentage set for that voyage (normally 25%), with the remaining balance invoiced separately.
For bookings made within 42 days of departure, full payment is required at invoicing rather than a deposit.
Where a deposit has been taken, the remaining balance is due no later than 42 days (6 weeks) before the departure date.
If payment is not received by the due date shown on the invoice, Morvargh Sailing Project reserves the right to cancel the booking and apply the relevant cancellation terms.
For some voyages, full payment may be required from the outset rather than staged payments.
The due date for payment will be clearly stated on your invoice.
If a voyage must be cancelled prior to departure, we will provide as much notice as possible.
We will seek to offer an alternative voyage. If this is not suitable, all monies paid will be refunded in full.
We will always communicate openly and promptly should any changes be required. Where possible, we will work with you to find a suitable alternative arrangement.
Sailing voyages are subject to weather, sea conditions, and operational requirements.
Itineraries and timings cannot be guaranteed.
Morvargh Sailing Project reserves the right to alter or terminate a voyage due to Force Majeure. This includes, but is not limited to:
In such cases, refunds, compensation, or reimbursement of associated costs will not be payable.
Participants are strongly advised not to make inflexible travel arrangements.
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have 14 days from the date of booking to cancel and receive a full refund.
After this period, the following charges apply:
If we are able to fully rebook your place, we may offer a refund at our discretion, less any administrative costs.
Requests to change voyage dates must be made more than 30 days before departure.
Changes are not guaranteed and may be subject to:
If a change cannot be accommodated and you choose not to proceed, this will be treated as a cancellation.
Participants must disclose all relevant medical conditions, medications, and support needs during the application process.
The Skipper reserves the right to refuse participation if a condition is considered to pose a risk to the individual or others.
Participants must ensure they are physically and mentally fit to take part in a demanding offshore environment. Failure to disclose relevant information may result in removal from the voyage without refund.
Participants are strongly advised to obtain appropriate travel and cancellation insurance. This should include cover for cancellation, medical treatment, and repatriation where appropriate.
Morvargh Sailing Project is not responsible for losses arising from personal circumstances, travel disruption, or cancellation.
Morvargh Sailing Project shall not be liable for loss, damage, delay, or additional expenses arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
This includes, but is not limited to, weather, mechanical failure, or third-party actions. This includes indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it is unlawful to do so.
Photographs and videos may be taken during voyages for promotional and educational purposes.
If you do not wish images of yourself or your child to be used, you must notify us when applying & prior to the voyage.
If you have a concern during a voyage, it should be raised with the Skipper at the earliest opportunity.
If the issue cannot be resolved on board, please contact Morvargh Sailing Project directly after the voyage.
Group bookings are priced on a whole vessel basis. This reflects the fixed costs of operating the vessel safely.
If the number of participants decreases, the full agreed fee remains payable.
A minimum of 8 participants is required to operate the vessel. Falling below this number may result in the voyage being treated as cancelled by you.
