Terms and Conditions

1. Promoter

The promoter is Morvargh Sailing Project CIC ("Morvargh Sailing Project", "we", "us" or "our"), a Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales.

2. The prize draw

Morvargh Sailing Project is offering one fully funded place for a young person on a three-day Weekend Explorer sailing voyage aboard Helen Mary R during the 2027 sailing season.

Entry is free, and no purchase is necessary.

3. Who can enter

The prize draw is open to UK residents aged 18 or over who visit Morvargh Sailing Project aboard Helen Mary R at the Southampton International Boat Show 2026 during the promotion period.

Entrants must be entering for a young person who:

  • Is resident in the UK; and
  • Will be aged between 11 and 16 inclusive on the date of the chosen voyage.
  • The young person doesn't need to be present at the Boat Show when the entry is made.

The entrant doesn't need to be the young person's parent or legal guardian. However, consent from the young person's parent or legal guardian will be required before the voyage place can be confirmed.

Directors of Morvargh Sailing Project CIC, members of the regular Afterguard aboard Helen Mary R and their immediate families aren't eligible to enter.

Only one entry per person is permitted.

We may request reasonable evidence that the entrant and nominated young person meet the eligibility requirements before awarding the prize.

4. When can I enter

The prize draw opens on 18 September 2026 and closes on 27 September 2026.

Entries can only be made while Morvargh Sailing Project is open to visitors at the Southampton International Boat Show during the promotion period.

Entries received after the competition has closed won't be included.

5. How to enter

To enter, complete and submit the online competition entry form available from Morvargh Sailing Project at Stand M828 during the Southampton International Boat Show.

You can access the form using the QR code displayed aboard or through a device provided by Morvargh Sailing Project.

Entrants must provide their name and a valid email address and confirm that they meet the eligibility requirements.

Entry is completely free. No purchase, donation or payment to Morvargh Sailing Project is required.

6. The prize

There is one prize, worth £225.

The prize is one fully funded place for one eligible young person on one of the following Weekend Explorer voyages aboard Helen Mary R:

  • 14–16 May 2027
  • 24–26 September 2027
  • The winner may choose between these two dates, subject to availability and the vessel's normal operational requirements.

The prize includes the young person's voyage place, accommodation aboard, meals and refreshments normally provided during the voyage, safety equipment normally provided by Morvargh Sailing Project, and the sailing activities and instruction forming part of the Weekend Explorer.

Travel to and from the vessel, personal spending money and other personal expenses aren't included.

There is no cash alternative. The prize can't be exchanged for cash or sold for financial gain.

7. Taking part in the voyage

The winner may nominate one eligible young person to use the prize.

Participation is subject to Morvargh Sailing Project's normal booking procedures and reasonable safeguarding, safety and participation requirements.

The young person's parent or legal guardian will need to complete our normal booking and consent documentation.

We will request any medical, dietary, safeguarding, or other information reasonably required to safely support the young person through our normal booking process after the prize has been awarded. We don't collect this information as part of competition entry.

8. How will the winner be selected

The winner will be selected at random from all valid and eligible entries received before the competition closes.

The draw will take place within seven days of the closing date using a computer process designed to produce a verifiably random result.

Whether or not an entrant chooses to join Morvargh Sailing Project's mailing list has no effect whatsoever on their chances of winning.

9. How will the winner be contacted

We will contact the winner using the email address provided when entering.

We'll make reasonable attempts to contact the winner. The winner must respond and accept the prize within 14 days of our first notification.

If we can't contact the selected winner after reasonable attempts, they don't respond within 14 days, decline the prize, or don't meet the eligibility requirements, we may select another winner at random from the remaining eligible entries.

10. Changes to voyages

Sailing is affected by weather, vessel operation and other circumstances that can occasionally require a voyage to be changed, postponed or cancelled.

The safety and welfare of young people and crew will always take priority.

If we're unable to provide the selected voyage for reasons outside our reasonable control, we'll make reasonable efforts to offer the winner another suitable voyage or an equivalent sailing opportunity.

11. Marketing and our mailing list

Joining Morvargh Sailing Project's mailing list isn't a condition of entering the prize draw.

Entrants will be given a separate, optional opportunity to receive emails from Morvargh Sailing Project about sailing opportunities, voyages and our work.

Choosing not to receive these emails won't affect eligibility or the chances of winning.

Anyone who chooses to receive marketing emails can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in our emails.

We won't add competition entrants to our marketing mailing list unless they have separately chosen to receive marketing communications.

12. How we'll use your information

We'll use the personal information provided on the entry form to administer the prize draw. This includes recording entries, checking eligibility, selecting and contacting the winner, awarding the prize and dealing with reasonable enquiries or disputes about the promotion.

If an entrant separately chooses to receive marketing emails, we'll also process their information for the purposes explained when they opt in.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection law and the Morvargh Sailing Project's Privacy Policy.

We will keep competition entry information only as long as reasonably necessary to administer and evidence the promotion and meet any applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

13. Winner information

We may make available the winner's surname and county where reasonably necessary to demonstrate that the prize has been awarded.

Entrants can object to their information being published or ask us to reduce the information made available by contacting Morvargh Sailing Project.

We may still be required to provide relevant information to the Advertising Standards Authority if requested.

We won't publish personal information about the young person receiving the prize simply because they have won.

Any photographs, publicity or social media involving the young person will be dealt with separately through our normal safeguarding and parental consent procedures.

14. Invalid entries

We may reject entries where we reasonably believe that:

  • An entrant doesn't meet the eligibility requirements
  • False or misleading information has been provided
  • More than one entry has been submitted by the same person
  • An automated system has been used to enter
  • An entry has been fraudulently submitted or manipulated; or
  • These terms have otherwise been breached.

15. Technical problems

We're not responsible for entries that aren't successfully received because of internet connectivity, telecommunications problems or other technical circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If there's a problem with our entry system during the show, we'll take reasonable steps to restore it.

16. Changes to the promotion

We intend to run the prize draw and award the advertised prize in accordance with these terms.

We may amend, suspend or withdraw the promotion only where circumstances outside our reasonable control make this genuinely necessary and where permitted by applicable law and advertising rules.

We won't make changes that unfairly disadvantage people who have already entered.

17. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Nothing in these terms affects an entrant's statutory rights.

18. Governing law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Entrants retain any rights they may have under applicable consumer law concerning where proceedings may be brought.
